Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has been upgraded to Maharatna CPSE status, enhancing its operational and financial autonomy. This status allows HAL to make significant investments without government approval. HAL, with an annual turnover of Rs. 28162 crore, will support the Indian Air Force by manufacturing 240 aero-engines for Su-30MKI aircraft.
