Defence minister Yoav Gallant also indicated that Hashem Safieddine, a likely successor, had likely been ‘eliminated’. Safieddine, like Nasrallah, is a cleric and has served as the head of Hezbollah’s executive council and its military operations body, the Jihad Council.
