The Supreme Court has mandated IIT Dhanbad to admit Atul Kumar, an 18-year-old Dalit student who missed the fee payment deadline by minutes. Exercising its power under Article 142, the court stressed that a talented student from a marginalized community should not lose his hard-earned seat due to financial constraints and directed the creation of an additional seat for him.
