The Finance Ministry aims to accumulate Rs 20,000 crores by issuing ‘Sovereign Green Bonds’ in the second half of FY 2025. These bonds will support environmentally sustainable projects and will be released in four tranches. The government has also retained the green shoe option for additional subscriptions. Additionally, weekly borrowing during Q3 FY25 is expected to be Rs 19,000 crore through treasury bills, with a WMA limit set at Rs 50,000 crore.
