Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh will assume the role of chief of the Indian Air Force following the retirement of Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari on September 30. Commissioned in December 1984, Singh has held various significant command and staff positions, including vice-chief and air officer commanding-in-chief of the Central Air Command.
