India has strongly reacted to a US court’s summons of its top officials following a civil lawsuit by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, leader of the banned Sikhs for Justice group. Pannun alleges an assassination plot by Indian officials was foiled. The lawsuit seeks financial compensation for assault and emotional distress. Pannun’s lawsuit references past incidents, including the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, another pro-Khalistani leader.
