In Bengaluru, a 59-year-old executive was duped out of Rs 59 lakh by cybercriminals who staged a fake courtroom scenario, complete with video calls from ‘police’ and ‘CBI’ officers. The victim was coerced into transferring the money under the pretense of clearing his name from false money laundering charges. Police are working to recover the funds.
