The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is advancing plans to introduce air taxis in India by 2026. It has released guidelines for vertical take-off and landing aircraft and vertiports. IndiGo’s parent company has ordered up to 200 air taxis from Archer, targeting launches in India or the UAE, depending on regulatory preparedness.
