Dr. Sandip Ghosh, former principal of Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College, was arrested for corruption. The CBI, investigating financial irregularities, acted after the Calcutta high court’s directive. Following a tragic rape and murder incident at the college, Ghosh resigned and was later suspended by the Indian Medical Association. Ghosh resigned from his role on August 12, just three days after the incident.
