Rajasthan education minister Madan Dilawar expressed intentions to burn any books that depict Mughal emperor Akbar as a great figure. He stated that comparing Akbar to Maharana Pratap is disrespectful. A committee will be formed to review textbooks for content that negatively affects the portrayal of national heroes or instills a sense of inferiority in students.
