A defective helicopter being airlifted by an MI-17 crashed near Tharu base camp on the Kedarnath route. Despite strong winds and weather changes, the pilot managed to avoid any casualties by ensuring the chopper fell away from populated areas. The incident occurred while transporting the chopper for repairs.
