Champai Soren, former Jharkhand chief minister, has joined BJP after leaving Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. Soren, who had recently served briefly as CM, cited the state government’s policies as reasons for his departure. He aims to address tribal population issues. Soren’s resignation followed Hemant Soren’s brief arrest in a money laundering case.
