India plans to commission its third nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine, INS Aridhaman, within six months, following the induction of INS Arighaat into the Strategic Forces Command. INS Aridhaman, slightly larger than its predecessors, will carry more long-range nuclear missiles. Notably, INS Arighaat can also carry K-4 missiles with a 3,000-km range, unlike INS Arihant’s 750-km K-15 missiles.
