Canada’s Liberals elect Mark Carney to replace PM Justin Trudeau

Canada’s governing Liberals have elected former Bank of Canada governor Mark Carney as Prime Minister, amid a tariff conflict with the United States initiated by Donald Trump. Carney, who is highly regarded for his role during the 2008 financial crisis, has already taken a strong stance against Trump’s tariffs.
