‘Proper lighting’: Centre’s directives for safety of doctors amid Kolkata rape-murder

Central health secretary Apurva Chandra outlined safety measures for healthcare workers after the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata. Recommendations include displaying laws, forming security committees, regulating public access, ensuring safe movement during night duties, proper lighting, routine patrolling, setting up a 24/7 security control room, and checking functionality of CCTV cameras.
