Uber Technologies Inc. was fined €290 million by the Dutch privacy watchdog for failing to comply with European data protection standards. Uber had transferred sensitive driver data from Europe to the US without proper privacy safeguards for over two years. Uber will appeal, claiming their process adhered to laws. The probe began after complaints by French drivers.
