India strongly condemned the firing incident by the Sri Lankan Navy that injured five Indian fishermen near Delft Island. The Ministry of External Affairs summoned the Sri Lankan acting high commissioner, expressing displeasure and demanding humane treatment for fishermen. Indian officials are assisting the injured and engaging with Sri Lankan authorities to address the contentious issue.
