The Indian home ministry has issued a warning to NGOs regarding penal action for receiving or using foreign contributions (FCs) after their FCRA certification is cancelled or expired. NGOs must be registered under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) and renew their certification six months before expiry to avoid violating FCRA regulations and facing penalties.
