Karnataka has reported its first suspected case of HMPV infection in an 8-month-old baby in Bengaluru. The baby, admitted to Bengaluru Baptist Hospital with fever and breathlessness, was found to have microbial RNA/DNA consistent with the virus. Further tests are pending for confirmation.
