Mumbai coast accident: ‘No one wore life jackets and they were not enough’

Life jackets were onboard, but passengers and crew only donned them after the vessel started sinking, highlighting lax safety enforcement. A nearby pilot boat’s intervention proved crucial, providing life jackets and rescuing 56 passengers.
