Sanjay Malhotra, a 1990-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the 26th RBI Governor, succeeding Shaktikanta Das. Malhotra’s three-year term begins Wednesday. His background includes roles in finance, taxation, and IT, both within the state and central government. Das’s term will be concluded on Tuesday after stabilising markets following his predecessor’s exit.
