The Calcutta high court ordered the outgoing principal of RG Kar Medical College, Sandip Ghosh, to go on leave after he was quickly reassigned to Calcutta National Medical College. The court criticized Ghosh for not taking action in the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor. Ghosh was accused of victim-blaming and not filing a formal complaint.
