Meta plans to appeal a Rs 213.14 crore penalty imposed by India’s Competition Commission (CCI) for alleged data misuse. The CCI found WhatsApp, owned by Meta, shared user data with Facebook and Instagram without consent. Meta argues the policy update was optional and aimed at enhancing business features, not compromising user privacy.
