India engaged in its first meeting with Taliban’s acting defense minister, Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid, in Kabul on Wednesday. India is considering increasing its role in Afghanistan’s reconstruction, encouraged by the Taliban’s assurances of preventing anti-India activities on Afghan soil.
