Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the Economic Survey for 2024-25, projecting a GDP growth of 6.4%, slightly below the RBI’s estimate. Despite falling short, India remains the fastest-growing major economy with a growth of 8.2% in 2023-24. The Union Budget is set to be presented on February 1, 2025.
