Republic Day will be celebrated for the first time in at least 30 villages in Bastar, once Maoist strongholds. Security camps have been established in these areas, allowing the unfurling of the national flag instead of black flags. The villages, previously dominated by PLGA Battalion 1, now see increased police presence and development activities.
