Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau stated that President-elect Donald Trump’s talk of annexing Canada is a distraction from his proposed tariffs on Canadian imports. Trudeau warned that such tariffs would increase prices for American consumers and reiterated that Canada would impose countermeasures. He also emphasized the harm that mutual tariffs could cause to both countries’ economies.
