Hafiz Abdul Rahman Makki, the deputy chief of banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa and brother-in-law of Mumbai attacks mastermind Hafiz Saeed, passed away in Lahore after a heart attack. Makki, who had been battling severe diabetes, was convicted of terror financing in 2020. He was designated a global terrorist by the UNSC in January 2023.
