A 150-year-old stepwell and a possible escape tunnel from the 1857 rebellion were unearthed during an anti-encroachment drive near a dilapidated temple in Chandausi, Sambhal. Officials and the ASI are investigating the site, which includes three levels, a well, and four chambers. Locals believe the tunnel aided freedom fighters.
