A 65-year-old Ahmedabad man was defrauded of Rs 1.29 crore by a woman he befriended on Facebook. Posing as a London resident, she and accomplices, including one impersonating a Delhi airport officer, extorted money from him between March and June by threatening legal action over undeclared currency. The retiree ultimately contacted authorities after realizing the scam.
