South Korean parliament impeaches President Yoon Suk Yeol

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has been impeached for a second time by lawmakers over a controversial martial law decree. The Constitutional Court will now decide whether to remove him permanently. This follows escalating public protests and a sharp decline in Yoon’s approval rating. He is the second president to face impeachment after Park Geun-hye in 2017.
