An Indian Army soldier, Havildar V Subbaiah Varikunta, was tragically killed in a mine blast while on patrol along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. He was part of a routine patrol in the Thanedar Tekri area when he accidentally stepped on a mine.
