The MEA condemned the breach of the Bangladesh assistant high commission in Agartala and emphasized that diplomatic properties should never be targeted. The incident followed an attack on an Agartala-Kolkata bus in Bangladesh. Tensions between India and Bangladesh have risen with recent mob attacks on Hindus and the arrest of Iskcon priest Chinmoy Krishna Das.
