Gunmen attacked two passenger vehicle convoys journeying between Peshawar and Parachinar in northwestern Pakistan, resulting in a minimum of 38 fatalities and 29 injuries. The victims included a woman and a child. The attack, condemned by President Asif Ali Zardari, occurred in the Kurram tribal district, an area known for sectarian tensions.
