Shivkumar Gautam, alias Shiva, the alleged shooter of former minister Baba Siddique, confessed to police that he lingered near the hospital where Siddique was taken to confirm the success of his act. Shiva, who was promised a hefty sum and other benefits for the assassination, fled to Pune and later to Lucknow before being apprehended near the Nepal border.
