President-elect Donald Trump has selected Florida representative and former Army Green Beret Mike Waltz as his national security adviser. A staunch critic of China, Waltz has voiced concerns over Chinese activities in the Asia-Pacific region and emphasised bolstering US military preparedness. The former National Guard colonel, will play a key role in shaping national security strategy and coordinating inter-agency efforts.
