A sessions court in Karnataka has sentenced 98 people to life imprisonment and three others to five years in jail for caste-related violence against Dalits in Marakumbi village. The 2014 incident involved a mob assault that led to torching of Dalit huts. Over 100 individuals were convicted after a decade-long trial.
