MakeMyTrip, India’s largest online travel agency, achieved a 33% increase in operating profit, totaling $37.5 million in Q2. Despite heavy rainfall impacting demand, the company’s gross booking value rose 24.3% to $2.3 billion. CEO Rajesh Magow attributed the success to strong brand and distribution leverage, even during the typically slower July-September period.
