After good monsoon, government sets record ’24-’25 foodgrains goal

India aims to boost foodgrain production to 341 million tonnes in 2024-25, an increase of 9 million tonnes from the previous year, focusing on pulses and oilseeds to reduce import costs. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan emphasizes crop diversification and inter-cropping. A committee will address the price gap between farmers and consumers for perishable commodities.
