An Indian government employee, Vikash Yadav, has been charged in the US for a murder-for-hire plot targeting Sikh separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. Yadav allegedly directed the plot through Nikhil Gupta, who recruited a supposed hitman, later revealed as a DEA confidential source. Yadav is now no longer employed by the Indian government.
