Jaishankar visited Pakistan for the first time in nearly nine years, meeting Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during an informal dinner ahead of the SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting. This visit, amid ongoing tensions over Kashmir and cross-border terrorism, follows Sushma Swaraj’s 2015 trip for the ‘Heart of Asia’ conference.
