India’s GJEPC has adopted new standards for defining a diamond, now requiring it to refer only to natural stones mined from the earth. This move aligns with the USA’s FTC guidelines and aims to prevent lab-grown diamonds from being misrepresented. GJEPC is urging updates to the Consumer Protection Act to reflect this definition.
