The Supreme Court sentenced former MLA Vijay Kumar Shukla and Mantu Tiwari to life imprisonment for the 1998 murder of ex-Bihar minister Brij Bihari Prasad. Other accused were acquitted due to lack of evidence. The court criticized minor discrepancies noted by Patna HC while acquitting all accused earlier, considering them superficial.
