Anil Ambani’s Reliance group has launched Reliance Enterprises to invest in Bhutan’s renewable energy sector, starting with 1.2 gigawatts of solar and hydropower projects. Partnering with Bhutan’s Druk Holding and Investments Ltd., the venture includes the 500 MW solar plant in Gelephu and the 770 MW Chamkharchhu-1 hydroelectric project. Total investments could reach $1 billion.
