The IPL Governing Council has decided that each franchise can retain up to five players and use one Right to Match (RTM) before the upcoming mega auction. If all five players are retained, it will cost the franchise Rs 75 crore from their total auction purse. The retention price caps are set at different amounts for each player retained.
