The ministerial panel on GST rationalisation has discussed proposals for adjusting rates on over 100 items and merging the 12% and 18% slabs. The fitment committee will analyse the impact, potentially reducing rates for common goods and increasing them for luxury items. Further discussions are scheduled in Delhi later this month.
