President Emmanuel Macron of France has backed the expansion of the United Nations Security Council to include permanent seats for India, Germany, Japan, Brazil, and two African countries. This proposal aims to make the council more inclusive and reflective of contemporary global realities. US President Joe Biden has also reaffirmed his support for India’s demand.
