Lt Gen Muhammad Asim Malik will assume the role of Pakistan’s ISI chief on September 30, succeeding Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum. With experience in Balochistan and Waziristan, Malik is also a graduate of Fort Leavenworth and the Royal College of Defence Studies. His appointment occurs amid escalating militant attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
