The Modi government has begun efforts to implement its ‘One Nation One Election’ policy by 2029, based on recommendations from a high-level panel led by former President Ramnath Kovind. This initiative requires two Constitutional amendments and backing from opposition parties. The government plans to introduce these amendments in the upcoming winter session of Parliament.
