Approximately 100 Samsung Electronics employees were detained by police in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu, while planning a march to the district collector’s office. Workers at the Sunguvarchatram plant have been striking for a week over demands for union recognition, better wages, and improved working hours. The strike has heavily affected production at the facility.
